The Ogre vs. Giselle

 *

Let's face it. Sometimes we all want to act like an ogre. We want to be rude. We want to be bitter. But we need to fight it. Don't be an ogre. They are ugly, mean, and usually lonely. (We are not referring to Shrek...just FYI)

Sometimes we have bad days, but that doesn't mean that you can huff at your roommates for having the TV on at the late hour of 8:00 pm or yell at the UPS guy because your J.Crew package has a tiny rip in the corner. Don't hibernate in your room and become the neighborhood monster whose breath smells of 12 day old Pringles.

This is wildly unattractive. This is the type of behavior that taints our name. Do we want "spinster" to become synonymous with "ogre"?   Nope.

Now let's flip to the opposite spectrum.

The urge to become Giselle.

Sometimes we may over-compensate our frustrations and insecurities with an overflowing joyousness that....well....is pretttty annoying at times.

Don't start wearing bells on your ankles and streamers in your perfectly curled hair.  And whatever you do, do NOT sing and/or skip down the street because you will get beat up by an ogre.

Find a happy medium. Be cool and collected.

Despite Billy Joel's words "too high or too low there ain't no in betweens....darling I don't know why I go to extremes," we beg to differ.

Keepin' the peace,

Char and Gertie
